18 more teachers joined Zhemgang Sherig Family

 

18 B.Ed teachers (10 General and 8 secondary) joined Zhemgang Sherig family on 3 June 2021. The induction programme was graced by Dasho Dzongdag and Venerable Lam Neten. The program started with National Anthem followed by the Zhabten of His Majesty the King.

Dasho Dzongdag during his keynote address welcomed all the teachers to Zhemgang Dzongkhag and to the civil service. Dasho also thanked them for choosing to serve in Zhemgang as their initial place of posting. Dasho reminded them the roles of teachers and their importance in the national building process. Dasho further highlighted some of the expected behaviours of the teachers and stressed that they should always have appropriate ‘Sampa Semkey” and right attitude in the course of their career. Reiterating the powerful quotes of the HM the Fourth King, Dasho said, whether you are a PhD degree holders or a Master’s degree holders, or has any highest qualification, but if you do not have appropriate “Sampa Semkay”, it is useless in the society.

This was followed by the words of wisdom from the Venerable Lam Neten. Lam stressed the importance of “Choe Da Lamsoel” and Driglam Choesum” as a teachers. Lam then conferred civil service Oath of Allegiance to the teachers and offered prayers for their successful career ahead.  

Following the Oath of Allegiance, new teachers were awarded Appointment Orders into the civil service along with Khadar by the Dasho Dzongdag.

The Dzongkhag is expecting six more teachers (PGDE) in July 2021. The Zhemgang will have 303 teachers in 30 schools.

Three day induction programme for the new recruit teachers began in the afternoon. The programme aims to orient them on Civil service Act, BCSR rules, CSWS, allowances and entitlements and other administrative matters such as filling the Civil Service Book, Personal file, and other financial matters.
