Primary Eye Care Program under the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Health initiated 5 days Comprehensive Mobile Operative Eye Camp at Buli Hospital from 15th – 19th of December 2021 for the people of Upper Kheng in Zhemgang Dzongkhag. A team comprising of two Senior Ophthalmologists and other categories of staffs from the Eye Department at JDWNRH conducted the program. The program was organized to benefit the general population of the four Gewogs in Upper Kheng namely Nangkor, Trong, Bardo and Shingkhar and two Thromdes namely Zhemgang and Tingtibi demarcated as Low Risk for COVID-19 pandemic. The camp carried out OPD screenings, Surgery for cataract and Pterygium and Refraction. Some more than 400 individuals have availed the services from the camp. The 5-days camp ended on Friday, the 19th of December 2021 leaving behind all the beneficiaries happy and cheerful and looking forward for better lives with their vision being corrected and opened to the outside world.
